Our singing is not about drawing attention to ourselves but about lifting our eyes to God. Every song is an opportunity to glorify him, to put aside our own pride, and to join together as his people in worship.
Singing Truth
Music is a gift God has given his church to help us remember and declare truth. In Deuteronomy 31, God commands songs to be written so that his people would not forget his words. A melody can reach our hearts and minds in a way that spoken words often cannot.
That’s why we sing songs that are rich in truth about who God is and what he has done. As Colossians 3 tells us, we let the word of Christ dwell in us richly through “psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.” Singing together helps anchor God’s word deep in our souls.
Encouraging One Another
When we sing, we don’t just sing to God—we sing to encourage each other. Music stirs our hearts, unites us as one body, and points us back to the hope we share in Christ. Each voice, whether strong or quiet, adds to the beauty of worshipping God together.
Getting Involved
The music ministry at Knighton Free Church is a team of musicians and singers who want to serve God and his people by leading the church in song. Whether it’s playing piano, guitar, drums, or singing, our aim is the same: to help others see more of God’s glory and hold fast to his truth.
