Our mission

Mission Statement

What we do / The reason we exist

The Lord Jesus Christ gave us our mission in Matthew 28:19-20 to fulfil the Great Commission.

“To make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Vision Statement

What we want to see happen

We want to see more people added to the Kingdom of God.  That doesn’t mean Knighton Free Church, and so we want to work with other organisations and churches for the good of His kingdom.

We identified two key statements for our church family.

  • Grow deeper in loving Christ together
  • Reach wider in proclaiming Christ together

On our own we simply cannot do this.  We are dependent on the Lord to help us and we are dependent on one another.

How we will get there

We live in a multicultural city and we want to reflect that in our church family, so we want to grow in our diversity as a church.  We have a long way to go, but that will happen as we pray and speak for Christ .  To help us do that, small groups are essential, not an added extra, so that we don’t work alone.

It will involve sacrificial giving, committed people, creative use of technology and our building.
